Geometry

Geometry deals with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogues. Shapes are recognized by carefully checking out their properties. Such properties usually have to be perceived by the students themselves. They also understand the idea of necessary and sufficient conditions to test an object. Students may occasionally be able to put together a logical argument but generally any proof that they need to know must be copied and repeatedly practiced in order for them to reproduce it. Topics discussed are formal proofs, angle and arc measurements, perpendicular lines, parallel lines, constructions of plane figures, area of plane figures, congruent triangles, proportions, ratio and proportion, and related topics in Solid Geometry.
This is my pleasure to teach you these concepts and hope you will enjoy the class.
Please feel free to join the blog and express your ideas and comments here to make the class more productive.
